Many of the above titles are quite cinematic and are available for licensing to be used with film and television productions.

Jim Hall & Bill Frisell recorded their duo album, “Hemispheres”, at Tony’s studio. As an engineer, Audiophile Audition magazine called Mr. Scherr’s 8 track studio recording of Jim Hall & Bill Frisell “an open environment which provides an intimate depth in glorious sounding analog.”

Tony Scherr has played bass and banjo on all the seasons of the Nickelodeon Jr. hit TV children's series; The Backyardigans.

New York filmmaker Doug Keeve featured several songs from the album in his film “Rodeo”.

Leslie Feist’s version of the song “Sacramento” (with her original lyrics it was titled “Lonely Lonely”) was featured on the television series The L Word, and also in at least one other film. Feist also included lonely lonely on her well-known record, Let It Die.

Ethan Hawke's film, The Hottest State, featured a score made up of songs written and produced by Tony’s long time friend and collaborator, Jesse Harris, and sung by an impressive array of artists (Cat Power, M Ward, the Black Keys, Feist, etc.).

Tony sang a version of “You, The Queen” (Harris) that was featured in the film and on the soundtrack, along with vocals and a slide guitar solo on the Norah Jones version of Harris’ “World of Trouble” and guitar on Willie Nelson’s version of Always Seem To Get Things Wrong”.

Scherr released his second Smells Like album, "Twist In The Wind" in 2007. It was reviewed as a “critics choice” in the NY times, which concluded that it “succeeds mightily”.
